Making Music Happen

Times have changed since Dyanne Marlowe debuted in the Capital Region music scene as the ingénue singer captivating audiences in the early sixties. She got her first break by filling in for a gentleman who was travelling overseas. Dyanne was soon crooning regularly at a local Night Club. Her musical education at Liberio Conservatory of Music and tutelage under famed vocal trainer Thelma Matesky also served her well. The pay was notable too at $90 per evening as compared to $90 per week in summer stock theater performances!

Over the years Dyanne enjoyed a regular following of fans and then formed her own Jazz Band later becoming the Wedding and Party Band. Success continued and Dyanne joined professional organizations where she sought advice about transforming another dream into reality. Dyanne was told that forming an orchestra was “a man’s job” and she should forget about it. This only further energized Dyanne and she went on to form the Marlowe and Company Big Band of the Northeast.

Dyanne married and had a family but never surrendered her love for music. She merely traded in the spot light for a chance to manage local talent. She has been instrumental in providing work for thousands of musicians and bands in Upstate New York and New England for over 40 years.

Her latest venture is a classical champagne reception ensemble which offers a cost effective and elegant alternative to a typical wedding/party band.

Marlowe and Company Music offers access to an unlimited variety of professional musicians that are hand picked by me. I am an accomplished singer and studied at the Liberio School of Music in Philadelphia. After a successful career with my bands as lead singer, I now manage the Marlowe and Company Band and the Marlowe and Company Big Band of the Northeast. Additionally, I exclusively manage the Albany Classic Trio and Albany String quartet. We work together to assure that our clients are afforded the opportunity to provide the song list of their choice ranging from old standards to modern rock and top 40s. My bands can and will learn any music requested and many of our clients over the years have commented that our bands “play it better than the original artist”. This is an important consideration when choosing between a live, interactive band and a DJ. Many brides and hosts want to appeal to all ages and musical tastes and feel that a DJ is the solution. We offer the best of both: pleasing everyone with the excitement and class of live entertainment. Having stated that distinction, we also recognize that a DJ may be the only choice for a variety of reasons and can accommodate that wish as well.

I concentrate on all aspects of training, consultation, coordination, production, management and yes payment for our comprehensive services. There is no substitution for experience, integrity, dependability and stellar service. That is the Marlowe Music guarantee. I would be happy to provide an extensive list of references from satisfied customers over many years. Don’t be fooled by inexperienced imitations: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Best of luck in your search,

Dyanne Marlowe
